Where should the wave count begin?

Method 1

Start counting from significant highs or lows depending on your trading/investment period. no matter what your time frame is You should also be aware of the waveform as a whole. I always start with the big picture, such as monthly or weekly bar charts. and then gradually adjust to a lower time frame

In the example, set the highest or lowest point of the time frame to be counted.

Divide the number of waves from a clear price swing point.

Label the wave, check the rules and guidelines, follow the wave principle.

Method 2

Start with recognizable patterns and expand, such as the Impulse Diagonal Zigzag Flat Triangle.

From the easily recognizable pattern example, you can see that the triangle pattern is quite eye-catching, so we define the triangle pattern first.

then expanded into a larger structure

Finally, don't forget to check the counting rules and guidelines. according to the wave principle To be confident in labeling waves and forecasting the next wave set.
